Bonus Types and Terms: A Comparison Checklist
Compare welcome rewards, deposit-linked bonuses, no-deposit credit, free spins and referral rewards using the same eligibility, expiry and withdrawal checklist.

Bonus names describe a structure, not a guaranteed benefit. A welcome reward, no-deposit credit, free-spin allocation and referral reward can impose different conditions even when their advertised amounts look similar. This overview helps readers classify the offer and identify which document to read next.
This is a terminology and comparison guide, not a list of current 96M promotions. The bonus terms hub links the detailed articles on eligibility, withdrawal restrictions, referral conditions and wagering arithmetic.
Identify the type before comparing amounts
| Type | What the label describes | What the label does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome reward | A promotion associated with a new account or introductory period | Who qualifies, whether a deposit is required, or how balances can be withdrawn |
| Deposit-linked reward | A benefit connected to a qualifying deposit | The qualifying amount, calculation base or complete cost of participation |
| No-deposit credit | Credit offered without an initial deposit requirement | That the original credit or all winnings are withdrawable cash |
| Free-spin allocation | A stated number of spins subject to specified conditions | The permitted game, stake per spin, resulting balance rules or expiry |
| Referral reward | A benefit connected to a qualifying referral | That creating an invitation or account alone meets the requirements |
A single campaign can combine more than one type. Record each component separately. A package containing credit and spins is not one simple amount unless the terms define how the components interact.
Use the same comparison fields for every offer
Copy the written conditions into a consistent checklist: eligibility, qualifying action, benefit calculation, usable balance, permitted games, contribution rates, deadline and withdrawal restrictions. Include the terms URL and the date you reviewed it. A blank field means information is missing; it does not mean that no restriction exists.
For example, a fictional headline of “100% up to RM100” leaves important questions unanswered. It does not identify a minimum qualifying amount, an activation condition, an expiry time or the basis of any wagering calculation. Another fictional headline saying “RM20 credit” may use a different balance structure entirely. These examples illustrate missing information, not available offers.
Keep eligibility separate from reward arithmetic
Eligibility answers whether the written rules apply to a particular person or account. Arithmetic answers how a stated amount is calculated after its inputs are known. A calculation cannot establish eligibility, and eligibility does not establish that participating is worthwhile.
Read the eligibility checklist for account and campaign restrictions. For the differences between deposit-only and deposit-plus-bonus bases, see the worked wagering calculation.
Choose the detailed guide that matches the question
- If the question is whether a promotional balance can become withdrawable money, read no-deposit credit, withdrawal caps and expiry.
- If a reward involves another person or an invitation code, read the referral conditions guide.
- If the question concerns qualifying turnover, contribution rates or a multiplier, use the worked examples rather than inferring the calculation from a banner.
Do not confuse game statistics with promotional conditions
Game RTP and volatility describe aspects of game mathematics. They do not replace a promotion’s contribution table or explain which transactions count toward its requirements. A higher theoretical RTP also does not make a particular session predictable.
The RTP and volatility explainer covers that distinction. Keep game information and promotion conditions in separate notes so that one cannot silently substitute for the other.
Decide whether the information is complete
Check that the headline, detailed terms and any account-specific notice describe the same campaign version. If they disagree, retain the documents and request clarification of the exact clause. Avoid treating a support summary, an older article or this guide as a replacement for the applicable terms.
Reading a promotion creates no obligation to participate. Rewards do not make gambling a dependable source of income, and spending more to pursue a condition can increase losses. An informed decision can be to decline an offer whose conditions are unclear or unsuitable.
